Teacher Evaluation Plan
The Peru Elementary School District 124 Teacher Evaluation Plan includes information on the development process, framework, core beliefs and goals of the plan and process within the first five sections of the plan narrative. The plan clearly focuses on meeting the professional growth needs of our district's teachers with the ultimate goal of improving the process of teaching and learning, while also ensuring full compliance with the Illinois Performance Evaluation Reform Act (or PERA, which is Public Act 96-0861).
The Peru ESD 124 Teacher Evaluation Plan was researched, planned, developed and approved by the 16 members of the Teacher Evaluation Committee, as well as the district's Joint PERA Committee and the Board of Education. The plan was fully implemented at the beginning of the 2012-13 school term, with the student growth component implemented at the beginning of the 2016-17 school term. The Teacher Evaluation Committee is an active group that continuously monitors the effectiveness of the plan and recommends changes as needed.
The Peru ESD 124 Teacher Evaluation Plan is aligned with Charlotte Danielson's A Framework for Teaching (2nd Edition). Danielson’s framework outlines four domains of teaching responsibility and detailed components under each domain. The Teacher Evaluation Plan Committee modified the components slightly to fit the needs of our school district.
